Profile( Dept. of Physics) Due to its Interdisciplinary scope ,Physics plays a central role among the other scientific subjects. In our college we started our journey from 19th of November 1997. But the department came into real existence when it upgraded to hons. course in 20th September 2011. Presently, the primary role of the department is to train undergraduate students, and to make them skilled and motivated on their field.The department is running the semester system from the academic year 2017. Presently the department has well equipped LAN based computational facilities and a dedicated computer center for students. Now our traditional chalkboard classroom is transformed into E-classroom where the lectures are delivered by Power Point Presentation along with the facility of instant online demonstration. We have two well equipped lab rooms including a dark room made specially for optical experiments . We also have a departmental library Dr. Saikat Kumar Seth was illustrious teacher who taught at the department of physics for an extensive period . Though the department has few shortcomings but yet we are improving to catch the rapid modernization in educational arena.
